Enjoying great food is an experience itself - and my life is a series of these delicious experiences. Here I share my favourites with you to eat and enjoy..

GUU - Toronto
#FOODIEFRIDAY
Looking for a place with an atmosphere unlike any other? Guu is my go to for a pick me up and feel good dinner. The service staff yells hello and goodbye to everyone coming and going from this cool little spot. The amazing food also keeps me coming back for more every time.
Here's my top 5
-
Make a reservation. Or wait for at least 20 minutes (on a weekday)
-
Take your time, and make sure you share
-
Ikapiri (calamari with spicy ketchup like sauce) is to die for
-
Yaki Udon - also to die for
-
First time? Sit at the bar! The chef's bar that is. Great place to mix and mingle, and see the deliciousness created first hand.
Playa Cabana Hacienda - Toronto
#FOODIEFRIDAY
Anyone who knows me, knows I'm basically obsessed with this Mexican place midtown Toronto. Lots of reasons why! Notably the amazing atmosphere, pitcher sized drinks, and incredible choice. Ready to get your money's worth?

Fish tacos. Just do it - it's so worth it
-
The corn appetizer - creamy, cheesy, four pieces in one order
-
Street style burritos break up the monotony of eating one giant burrito (which are also pretty good if that's what you're into)
-
Mix and match the taco's - 3 for $15, so mix, match, share. Some of my faves are chicken tinga, LA truck, braised beef, and as previously stated the fish - fried of course
-
Save room for the churro poutine!! It's as gluttonous-ly delicious as it sounds
Carbon Bar - Toronto
#FOODIEFRIDAY
Carbon Bar is a downtown (slightly east) restaurant which sees a really interesting crowd of people. You've got the finance folk who venture out of their Bay st. bubble, as well as "hip" Queen East foodies who flock a little west for a seat here. One of the few places in Toronto where you should be able to walk in and get a table on a week night without fighting a herd of people.
Being a frequent eater at Carbon Bar, here's my top 5
-
The "Carbon Bar Experience" family style menu is one of the best in the city. You get a little bit of everything, the price is great ($59 pp) and the portions are BIG!
-
Try lots of drinks - the bartenders know what they're doing, and the cocktails are on point
-
The platters are so worth the cost. The fishmonger's platter samples all their seafood, the pitt master platter samples meat. Great if you can't decide (which may be the case).
-
BBQ Rib Mac and Cheese... with truffle... that is all
-
The Carbon Snack bar for late night eats make this place a one stop shop with drinking and snacking. All the snacks are $5 and you should probably just order them all. You're welcome.
